Mayor Bronin on Hartford Mask Mandate and Outdoor Events

New Haven

The mask mandate for New Haven was effective on Monday, Aug. 9 at 12:01 a.m. The City of New Haven now requires indoor masking at all establishments, such as bars, restaurants, theaters, and office buildings, regardless of people’s vaccination status.

Stamford

Masks must be worn in all retail and indoor public spaces in Stamford, regardless of vaccination status, beginning at 8 a.m. on Aug. 12. The mayor also says all outdoor events in the city with 100 or more people will also require masks regardless of vaccination status.

Hartford

Beginning at midnight on Wednesday, August 11, a mask is required for anyone indoors in Hartford, except for those with relevant medical conditions, children under the age of 2, while eating or drinking, and for people who are alone in an indoor space or in an office setting where there are partitions between them and other people.

Bridgeport

The city of Bridgeport requires the use of masks or protective face coverings when attending public indoor venues.
