Summer Safety: Tips for Parents
Tips for Parents to help keep your kids safe this summer!
- Practice Sun Safety – sun damage can lead to skin damage and other health problems in the future. Always use sunscreen and reapply often.
- Water Safety – Learn CPR and refresh your skills frequently, and always supervise your child when they are in the water, regardless of lifeguards on duty
- Be mindful of the heat and know the signs of heat exhaustion in children. Heavy sweating; cold, pale and clammy skin; muscle cramps; tiredness or weakness are just a few signs.
- Dress yourself and your kids in cool, lightweight clothing, schedule activities during the cooler parts of the days and have fun this summer!
