About FoodCorps
· FoodCorps has been a Serve Connecticut AmeriCorps program for 8 years.
· Was founded to address health issues and health disparities related to poor nutrition among US children.
· Each year, FoodCorps recruits up to 18 AmeriCorps members who connect all kids to healthy food in Connecticut schools.
· FoodCorps AmeriCorps members are placed in elementary schools in ten underserved school districts across Connecticut.
· Over the past five years, FoodCorps AmeriCorps members are closing in on having served 10,000 Connecticut students.
