Mattress recycling is available throughout Connecticut through the “Bye Bye Mattress program” and the Mattress Recycling Council, which has recycled over 900,000 mattresses in Connecticut. This equates to more than 15,000 tons diverted from the Connecticut waste stream for recycling. Since 2015, when the first mattress recycling program began in Connecticut, 136 Connecticut municipalities offer direct access to the Bye Bye Mattress program through transfer stations, public works yards, and municipal collection events.
