The Greater Hartford Arts Council has served Connecticut’s capital region for nearly 50 years, providing critical financial and organizational resources to support the arts and cultural sector, as well as helping all people connect with the arts in their community. We work hard, every day, to build a strong community and we couldn’t do it without the help of thousands of donors who believe in the power of the arts to change our community.

Make Music Hartford is back! Hartford will join over 1000 cities worldwide on June 21, the longest day of the year, to celebrate Make Music Day and we invite you to participate in the excitement. Whether you’re a musician, a local business owner, someone who lives, works or just visits Hartford, we invite you to be part of Make Music Hartford! Make Music Day was founded on the notion that music has the power to bring people together. In times joy and hardship, both active and passive participation in music is healing. As society slowly returns to a (new) normal, we wanted to take the opportunity bring our community together to heal.

By following municipal, state, and federal guidelines on safety, we are planning a hybrid selection of in-person and virtual activities because trust us, we want to get out and play just as much as you do, but we want to keep everyone safe. All the more reason to come back strong in
