Adoptable or Foster: Perkins the 10 month old puppy!!!

LOOKING FOR A FOSTER TO ADOPT HOME!

Perkins is a 10 month old Feist mix aka (hound/terrier x)(we didn't know what that breed was either!). He came into the rescue the beginning of December after being hit by a car. He had a femoral head ostectomy on his rear leg, this is a surgical procedure that is done for a damaged hip by removing the head and neck of the femur. He has done great since the surgery and his leg has healed wonderfully, however after the surgery when he had to bear all of his weight on the other leg, it was apparent there was some discomfort in that one as well involving the knee. Our surgeon wants to give it a few months to see how how he does before determining if surgery is also needed on that one. Most of the time he is fine but after prolonged or intense activity he does tend to hold it up. He will be evaluated again in a few months. Perkins is in a foster home, but we would like to find him a home where he can be a "foster to adopt". We cannot adopt him out until he is 100% medically cleared, but we would love for him to find a foster home where he will be staying for good. Perkins is an adorable and sweet boy. He is so loving and so much fun. He is GREAT with dogs and cats however he is NOT good with young kids. We are looking for a home with no kids or kids 12+. It's important he go to a home with another dog(s) as he very much enjoys their company. He also needs a family that lives in a home rather than condo or apartment setting. He is about 35 pounds and has been neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for HW/Lyme. His adoption fee will be $250 but as mentioned, right now we are looking for a foster to adopt situation and we will provide everything he needs. We do need someone in or near Hartford County as he will have to get to his follow-up appointment. He's a fantastic little dog! Please email kenwayscause@gmail.com for a foster application if you are interested!

AGAIN; anyone interested should have intentions of adopting as he already has a foster home but it's not a permanent situation and we would like him to find his home sweet home!
