Mental Health Check In Session II: A conversation with Ann Dagle from The Brian Dagle Foundation, Marisa Giarnella-Porco from the Jordan Porco Foundation and Trooper Jeltema of the Connecticut State Police
Each week we hope to get and keep the conversation going about mental health, substance misuse and addiction and suicide prevention.
The Brian Dagle Foundation — anchored in hope and empowered to support, is dedicated to the healing of grieving adults as well as community education on suicide prevention and awareness.
The Jordan Porco Foundation’s mission is to prevent suicide, promote mental health, and create a message of hope for young adults. We provide engaging and uplifting programming emphasizing peer-to-peer messaging promoting help seeking behavior, self-care, and coping skills. Our programs challenge stigma by talking openly about mental health, and educating about the risk factors and warning signs of suicide and other related mental health concerns.
The Connecticut State Police is the largest law enforcement agency in the State of Connecticut and the oldest State Police agency in the country. Over 1,100 troopers from 11 barracks patrol over 7,000 miles of roadway and serve as the primary law enforcement agency for 79 towns in Connecticut, totaling over 2,600 square miles.
