Several Schools Across CT Temporarily Closed Over COVID Concerns

Several schools across the state have been dealing with temporary closures due to positive or presumptive-positive cases of COVID.

Bridgeport

The Paul Lawrence Dunbar School is closed for in-person learning through September 29.

Colchester

Colchester Elementary School is closed for in-person learning for 14 days due to a staffing shortage. The school is expected to reopen on October 5th, if possible.

Fairfield

Sacred Heart University in Fairfield saw 105 COVID-19 cases, including 22 among on-campus students and 83 among off-campus.

According to the university's president, if the number of cases doesn't slow down on campus, in-person classes will end.

Southington

Southington High School will be doing remote learning for a third straight day. They are hoping to reopen on Thursday.

Trumbull

Hillcrest Middle School is closed to all students because of a case of COVID-19 and school will be remote until September 30. Students in Cohort B will be able to re-enter the building on Thursday, Oct. 1.

West Hartford

Conard High School is open for seniors taking the SAT, but all other students will be remote.
