A 12-year-old girl in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, saved her family when their house caught on fire.Queen Bryant was watching TV with her five younger siblings when she smelled smoke and realized flames were coming from a bedroom in their mobile home.
The big sister acted fast, telling her brothers and sisters to get outside and carrying two of them in her arms as they fled. Thanks to Queen being quick on her feet, all of them escaped safely and once they were outside, people driving past saw the smoke and them and stopped to help.
Now the tween is being recognized for the hero she is. “I’m not used to being called that,” Queen admits, “I kind of feel proud of being called a hero.”
