An 11-year-old boy in the U.K. showed his bravery when he rescued a drowning toddler from the sea.Eli Harrison was on a pier with his family when they saw the tot struggling alone in the water. Eli didn’t hesitate and jumped in to save him, swimming with him back to the beach.
The toddler’s parents had turned their eyes off of him for a “split second” when he managed to get in the water. Luckily, Eli saw him right away and now he’s doing fine, despite his adventure at sea. Others are calling Eli a “hero,” but he doesn’t think he’s done anything special and says he just did what anyone else would’ve done. Eli says his father, grandfather, and even great-grandfather are all fisherman, so being comfortably in the water is just "In his blood".
The toddler’s parents were so grateful for his rescue, they gave Eli a little cash as a reward. And this hero? He spent the money on candy.and shared it with the boy he saved!
People from all over the UK are sending Eli letters, cards....and yes, candy too!
