Hatebreed Debuts New Beer At Witchdoctor Brewery In Southington

The Connecticut born-and-bred musicians of Hatebreed collaborated with the Witchdoctor Brewing Company to debut an original brew. The VIP release party happened this past Sunday in Southington.

“The way I look at it, they’re artists and I’m an artist,” Head Brewer Robb Todd explained of the collaboration. “Their music drives me to create a product.”

That product is the Live for This Lager, inspired by Hatebreed’s 2008 song, “Live for This.” At 4.5 percent Alcohol By Volume (ABV), the Munich Helles-style lager is light golden in color and flavor. “It’s easily drinkable,” bass player Chris Beattie said. “We’re very proud of this beer.”

“Hopefully our new album will be out by the end of this year,” guitarist Wayne Lozinak said..."Since all this has been going on, we’re excited to have something to give our fans."

Vocalist Jamey Jasta and his bandmates took the time to meet fans, pose for pictures with them and talk music at the beer release party. It was longstanding ties to the metal scene shared by Todd and Witchdoctor co-owners Josh Norris and Mike See that became the catalyst for the partnership with Hatebreed.

The band has been involved in the whole brewing process, from the name choice and flavor profile to the debut event this past weekend. The partnership is ongoing with plans for more events.
