Wedding Crasher Interrupts Ceremony To Tell Couple The Beach Is Closed

A couple's attempt to renew their vows on a beach in Hawaii was interrupted by a woman who informed them the beach was closed.

"I don't want to be rude, but I had enough of s***," the woman, identified as Mokihana Iida, said as she approached the wedding party.

A woman dressed in a light blue floral dress and holding a bouquet pointed to a nearby house, telling Iida they are staying there.

"That's not your house, you're lying. This is the beach, and the beach is closed," Iida said.

The woman continued to argue with the wedding party and told the officiant, known locally as Captain Howie, "You're always doing this for money."

Eventually, the wedding party went back to the home. Police responded but did not cite the couple or the homeowner for violating an order that bans short-term vacation rentals and beach weddings on the island of Oahu.

The homeowner told KITV that she knows the couple and allowed them to use her home to renew their vows on the 20th wedding anniversary.

Captain Howie admitted that the ceremony was held beyond the property line. He also said that he should have asked the guests to wear masks and social distance.

"Would I have done it differently, yes," he said. "We could have had a little more distancing and masks."

Iida told the news station she doesn't regret what she did and doesn't care about the hate she is receiving from people on social media.

"They can call me whatever they want around the world," she said. "They're just sitting behind a computer. They don't understand Hawaii or the issues we deal with every day."
