Taco Bell Workers Save Man’s Life In Drive-Thru

Staff members at a Taco Bell in Clarksville, Tennessee, noticed their drive-thru line had come to a stop while they could see and hear cars, so one of them went to see what was going on.Jonathan Jeanis saw a van parked the wrong way blocking the line with a man slumped over the driver seat. That’s when Sonja Nixon Frazier stepped up and helped save that driver’s life.

She’s worked at Taco Bell for 14 years, but has also been a home healthcare worker, so she’s had many first-aid courses and knew what to do. She and Jonathan worked to get the man on the ground and she found a pulse, but says it was weak. Another employee called 911 and the dispatcher asked if anyone knew CPR, Frazier did and she got to work, doing both chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to keep him alive until first responders arrived.

Frazier says the man came to the restaurant to thank her in person for saving his life and tell her about his condition and she’s just glad she could help. “I didn’t care about his race, politics, none of that … it never crossed my mind,” she says. “It was his life and he needed help.”
