When will the $400 Unemployment Bonus Start?

When will the $400 Unemployment Bonus Start? Here's what we know so far.

Trump signed a series of executive orders along with three memorandums, including one that will add an extra $400 per week in supplemental unemployment benefits.

However, does the president have the legal authority to extend these enhanced unemployment benefits by executive action without Congress?

States are being asked to cover 25% of the costs ($100), and it may take months for states to implement due to budget shortfalls, meaning the extra payment may amount to only $300 a week.

I spoke with Senator Richard Blumenthal about this, and the interview is long, unedited and begins with the power outage and power company issues in our state first, then we tackle unemployment and the executive orders President Trump issued over the weekend.

A powerful message to Eversource and CEO, he wants a refund for customers. He also explains the executive orders that were made over the weekend and why there is bipartisan pushback and States are concerned because they just don't have the funds to actually support his unemployment offer.

NOTE: Please excuse, due to the nature of subject matter, I wanted to get this right out to you. I have not edited this or "tightened" it up like I normally would do - excuse all my "ums"!
