Next time one of my kids say that they want to fly drones for a living, I'm ok with it! Here's another example why...
Police used a drone to locate a blind man who had been lost in the woods for more than 30 hours. His family contacted the Enfield Police when they were unable to make contact with the unnamed man. Officers determined he probably walked away from his home and became disoriented.
Low temperatures in the area put the man at risk for hypothermia and Enfield Police reached out to colleagues in the Vernon Connecticut Police for help, and they brought in a drone pilot to join in the search. The drone found the missing man in just 30 minutes and he says he had been outside for around 33 hours.
“If he wasn’t found today, you know, tomorrow might have been a different story,” explains drone pilot Sergeant Todd Thiel of the Vernon Police Department
