Most people would be willing to make a lot of sacrifices for $324 million, and one of the ones newest New York YankeeGerrit Colehad to make when he signed with the New York Yankees was bidding farewell to his facial hair.
Cole has had a beard throughout his entire MLB career, but he now must adhere to the Yankees’ notorious appearance policy, which forbids facial hair. At his introductory press conference on Wednesday, Cole took the podium clean-shaven.
Naturally, the right-hander was asked about having to shave now that he is a member of the Yankees and had this great response about shaving his beard.
Cole on shaving his beard: “I’ve experienced razor burn now for the first time.”
Something tells me it’s AL East batters that will be feeling the burn come Spring.
