A few years ago, retired chemist Dorothy Hale of Rochester, New York, took a class to learn how to repair musical instruments. She then recruited her husband, Charlie, a retired doctor, and their lives were changed forever.
They now spend their days buying broken instruments, repairing them – and then giving them to school kids.
So far, Dorothy and Charlie have donated nearly 1,000 to the Rochester School District, giving children the chance to benefit from everything a musical education provides. (CBS News)
