Raynard Grover spotted something on the road in Augusta, Maine and stopped to get a closer look. It was actually a big stack of cash - $10,000 to be exact - and while he admits he thought about keeping it, he says “with good faith and conscience, I couldn’t keep it.”
So the honest man turned it in to the Augusta Police and they found out it was a bank deposit for a local business, Power Equipment Plus. The owner had driven off with it on her truck bumper and thought she was out 10-grand, so she’s beyond thankful for Grover’s honesty.
The story is restoring people’s faith in humanity and doing the right thing was its own reward for Grover. “It’s empowering,” he says. “It’s almost like I got an early Christmas gift.”
