A couple in South Bend, Indiana is helping to make sure everyone has something warm to wear this winter.Carl Buchanon and his wife,Cathy, aren’t just donating coats, hats, and scarves to shelters, they’re putting them in high-traffic areas where anyone in need can take one.
They tie coats, gloves, and other cold weather gear to trees and poles and each item has a tag that reads: “I am not lost … if you are stuck in the cold, please take this.”
“We’re only here because we are here to help each other,” says Carl, “so that’s what we’re doing, and we want to encourage others to do the same.”
