Lyft has a new program to help people get to job interviews and to work at a new job. TheirJobs Access Program is a partnership with organizations including the National Down Syndrome Society and United Way with a goal “to close the transportation gap in low-income communities.”
The initiative offers free or discounted rides to job interviews and to the first three weeks of employment at a new job in 35 cities in the U.S. and Canada. In a statement Lyft explains, “For the unemployed, reliable transportation to a job interview or to the first few weeks of work can mean the difference between successful, long-term employment and lost opportunities.”
