About Lindsey

~ I can live in a single family home.

~ I want to live with adults and teens who are familiar with rambunctious dogs.

~ I may like to live with a dog but would need a cat free home.

~ I am a high energy kind of dog and am looking for a home where I can get lots of exercise every day.

~ My behavior is very typical for my breed. I would prefer to live with someone who has Cattle Dog/Herding breed experience.

Herding (German Shepherd, Collie, Australian Shepherd, Cattledogs, Corgi, Sheepdog, etc.)

a. When full grown herding dogs are typically medium to large dogs.

b. These breeds were born to work. They commonly have strong instincts and a desire to please, but are also able to accomplish and learn things independently.

c. If not properly trained and given a job to do, herding breeds will take it upon themselves to find a job (some of which you may not enjoy).

d. Due to their herding instinct to keep the "flock" together, they are prone to chase after running kids. While dedicated to their families, herding dogs may do best in a home with older children, teens and/or adults.

e. Herding dogs are highly intelligent and require a high level of exercise. They excel not only in herding but also in obedience, agility, tracking and flyball.

f. Barking, heel nipping and nudging are normal herding behaviors that may require extra enrichment or training to curb if undesirable.
