David Ortiz Returns To Fenway After Being Shot - Throws Out First Pitch!

It’s a shame that former Red Sox president Dave Dombrowski couldn’t hold onto his job for one more day—because he would have got to see this.

Actually, I am sure he saw it, he just wasn’t in Fenway for this heartwarming moment when team legendDavid Ortizmade his return to the park ahead of the team’s game against the New York Yankees.

Watch as just months after Ortiz was shot in his native Dominican Republic—causing what were initially deemed to be serious injuries—throws a damn fine pitch to Jason Varitek.

And turn up the volume so you can hear the gratitude of the standing ovation from those who had cheered on Ortiz during his legendary 14-year career with the Red Sox.

Not like they needed their lungs at all after that—unless they wanted to boo the rest of the BoSox who were shut out by the Yankees 5-0 for their third straight loss— a loss that officially ended Boston's three-year reign as AL East champs.

Wow, they could have easily done that with Dombrowski still there.
