Last year, UCONN lost their first game of the season to Central Florida on Opening night. But the Huskies had other plans to start their 2019 season - UCONN beat Wagner to start their 2019 season!
New quarterback Mike Beaudry started the game by taking the ball into the endzone early to put UCONN up 7-0.
Clayton Harris hit a 3 yard field goal to make it 10-0 at the half.
In the 3rd quarter, Mike Beaudry was picked off by Myron Morris. for a 71 yard TD to make the score 10-7 Huskies.
Kevin Mensah, UCONN's running back would get it back for the Huskies with a 4 yards score to make it 17-7 UCONN.
Wagner would go on to tie the game, until the speedy Art Thompkins will untie it with a touchdown 24-14.
UCONN would go on to win it 24-21. UCONN gets back at it on Saturday 9/7 when Illinois comes to town.
