James Holzhauer Extends 'Jeopardy!' Run With $89K Day

James Holzhauer, the Las Vegas sports bettor who's on a historic run on "Jeopardy!," returned to the airwaves yesterday and got right back to business winning his 23rd consecutive game and racking up a nifty $89,229 in the process.

The near 90K payday brings his total to $1,780,237, more than half way to the legendary Ken Jennings total of more than $2.5-million.

Of course he needed a record 74-game winning streak to do so back in 2004. Holzhauer is on pace to surpass Jennings in 10 more games.

And here are some even more staggering numbers. During his run, Holzhauer has provided 841 correct answersand only 27 incorrect responses.Through 23 games, only two contestants have gone into Final “Jeopardy!” within striking distance of Holzhauer.

It was Holzhauer's first appearance on "Jeopardy!" in two weeks due to a teacher’s tournament.

Teachers incidentally will make that $1.7-million over the course of 74 decades.
