Make-A-Wish Connecticut Evening of Wishes Gala

Make-A-Wish Connecticut Evening of Wishes Gala

Join us for a whirlwind tour of the world courtesy of our globe-trotting wish kids

Your journey begins here! Imagine traveling through Africa, Asia, Europe and the Islands – all through the eyes of critically ill children who have been granted a travel wish. Learn about the medical journey each child has traveled and, most importantly, experience the impact of the wish journey that helps critically ill children replace fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope.

Six o’clock p.m. on Saturday evening April 6, in the Earth Ballroom at the Earth Expo & Convention Center at Mohegan Sun, is where the magic happens. After receiving your passport, you will meet Chris Connelly, ESPN Reporter and Essayist and event hosts NBC Connecticut News Anchor Kevin Nathan and wish kid Olivia Kalentek, along with a dozen other wish kids who have traveled to each of the featured worldwide destinations.

Together, they will take you on an unforgettable journey that will show you how a wish gives a child a voice and a choice — two things often lost during treatment. You will learn how a wish is proof that anything is possible, and how even long after the wish is experienced children re-activate their wish experiences, find needed support and access reserves of strength and hope that allow them to tap into the power of their wishes long into the future.

Transport yourself all over the world by drinking signature cocktails by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, listening to the steel drum band, savoring the taste of the world dinner, participating in an exciting auction, sampling international desserts, and dancing the night away.

For more information on how you can help make critically ill children’s wishes come true purchase tickets at www.ct.wish.org/gala. Please fasten your seat belts and travel safely!

ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH CONNECTICUT

Make-A-Wish® Connecticut creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We seek to bring every eligible child's wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and volunteers across the state currently grant nearly 250 wishes a year. Since 1986, Make-A-Wish Connecticut has granted more than 3,000 wishes to local children. For more information about Make-A-Wish Connecticut, visit ct.wish.org.
