Avocado Is A World Record Setter!!

A Hawaiian farmer's avocados are unofficially breaking a world record.

Farmer Kenji Fukumitsu grew an avocado that weighed in at a whopping six-pounds-eleven-ounces. The current Guinness World Record for largest avocado is five-pounds-eight-ounces. Efforts have been made to get official Guinness recognition for Fukumitsu's avocados, but it takes 12 weeks for someone to authenticate it.

Unfortunately, the monster avocado won't be able to last 12 weeks. But Fukumitsu says he's not too bummed out about it, adding that "we just pick it and eat it." The tree the avocado came from not only produces even bigger ones, but has been harvested by the family since World War II.
