There Will Be a 50th Anniversary Woodstock

Yesterday, Woodstock co-creator Michael Lang confirmed that a 50th anniversary three-day festival is coming...but not to Max Yasgur's farm.  It's coming to Watkins Glen, New York, August 16th, 17th and 18th.  The original concert happened on the weekend of August 15th in 1969.

He says that 40 acts are already booked, but no performers will be "officially" announced until tickets go on sale next month...and the theme will be Activism.

Michael Lang said "We want this to be more than just coming to a concert. Woodstock '99 was more like an MTV event than a Woodstock event, it was also kind of an angry time in music. "

He's expecting to sell more than 100,000 3 day passes too!

So why not have it where it all happened 50 years ago??  He said that site (which now has a concert venue there) just isn't big enough.  Watkins Glen, New York is less than 150 miles from Bethel, where the original festival was held.

Once some bands are announced, we'll let you know how to get tickets.
