Billy Idol Become US Citizen!

Maybe not with a rebel yell, but with a raised right hand, rock star Billy Idol is now a U.S. citizen. On Nov. 14, the singer of such hits as “Dancin’ With Myself” and “White Wedding” held an American flag as he took the naturalization oath of allegiance in a small ceremony in Los Angeles.

“It’s a nice day for a naturalization ceremony. Congratulations Billy Idol on becoming a #newUScitizen today in Los Angeles, CA,” announced U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in a tweet.

Idol, 63, was born William Michael Albert Broad in Middlesex, England. He moved to New York City in the 1980s to pursue his singing career. He moved to Los Angeles in 1987. He was nominated for three Grammy awards and is the winner of an MTV Video Music Award and a Brit Award.
