People and Pets Hurricane Michael Relief

People and Pets Hurricane Michael Relief

We'd like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who made our People and Pets Hurricane Michael Relief Drive a success!!! On Wednesday November 7th we were at Rocky Hill Big Y from 6:30am-7pm collecting people and pet supplies to help those who were affected by Hurricane Michael in the south.

Our mission was to fill an 18-wheeler with much needed supplies such as water, baby supplies, pet food, and so much more and send it down to Alabama and Florida. It's drop off location is Dothan Police Department in Alabama. We had people from all over come to support and donate and we can't thank you enough. The amount of generosity and good-hearted individuals that we got to meet and interact with was so inspiring. It was indeed a long day but it was so worth it to see everyone come together for a common cause. Sometimes in this crazy world, it's hard to see the "good" through the "bad" that overshadows it, but days like this restore your faith in humanity and show our willingness to help those who need it most. Shoppers who came to Big Y for one thing ended up coming out of the store with carriages full of cleaning wipes, baby diapers, and cases of water just because they wanted to help. That alone, was amazing to see and kept us going all day.

All of this wouldn't have been possible without Big Y World Class Market, The Salvation Army, Woodland Moving, iHeartRadio, The Hometown Foundation, Dream Ride, The Perfect Promotion, and so many more. Thank you to everyone who donated including The Better Business Bureau Serving Connecticut, Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, Wolcott Animal Control, Rocky Hill Police Department, Bikers Against Animal Cruelty, Adelbrook, Channel 3 and so many others. Thanks to all of you we were able to collect over 15,000 lbs of people and pet supplies. We truly appreciate your good will, generosity, and selflessness.
