Louisiana Man Claims 'Ghosts or Intruders' Planted Meth on Him

Louisiana man claims ghost planted meth on him

We get it. It's October and people are trying to get in the mood for Halloween. But, trying to tell sheriff's deputies that the meth they discovered in your home was actually planted by a ghost, you're probably not going to scare up much sympathy.

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office says deputies were dispatched to a call from a man who claimed that someone "stabbed" him in the head with an axe. When deputies arrived to the home on Lynette Drive in the West Monroe area, they say they found the man, identified as Michael L. Auttonberry standing at his front door cursing at people who were "obviously not there."

When Auttonberry refused to calm down and began cursing at the officers, they placed him in handcuffs for their safety. After a brief examination, they determined that Auttonberry was not injured and had not been hit in the head with an axe.

According to the arrest report, Auttonberry told deputies there were still intruders inside his home and asked them to search his home. When deputies looked inside, they didn't find any intruders, but they did find a small bag of meth on Auttonberry's nightstand sitting in plain view. Deputies searched him and found another gram of meth on Auttonberry.

When deputies asked him about the meth, Auttonberry told them that intruders, or a ghost planted the meth.

"Michael stated ghosts or intruders placed the methamphetamine on him, then stated they were currently climbing out the window nearby, which was not accurate," the report states. "OPSO HQ confirmed tonight's complaint was called into 911 by Michael, as well as several other complaints which were unfounded upon investigation."

Auttenberry was arrested for filing a false police report and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
