As a parent, I know how difficult the lunch struggle is for school kids...But, the city of Meriden solved that problem for ALL kids and parents too! Starting next year, students at ALL public schools in the city of Meriden will no longer have to pay for meals at school.
The Board of Education has approved the expansion of its USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) to include all 12 public schools in the district. That's up from just five schools.
The expansion of the program means that the school district will provide free breakfast and lunch to all students starting in the upcoming school year.
