Hard work and determination help you go far in life and one high school senior from North Carolina is learning that first-hand. College acceptance letters have been rolling in for Jasmine Harrison, not from just one or two colleges, not even from a dozen, this girl from Greensboro has gotten into 113 colleges and universities across the country. And along with the 113 acceptance letters, Jasmine has been awarded over $4.5-million in merit-based scholarships!
So how did she ever apply to enough colleges to get into 113? She used the Common Black College application to apply to 53 Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and she used the College Foundation of North Carolina College Application Month, to apply to schools in the state for free. Jasmine also used the Common Application and applied to 20 more at one time.
And which of the 113 colleges did she pick? Bennett College, where she has a full scholarship and plans to major in biology. Congratulations, Jasmine!
