The University of New Haven Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) students, as a part of the Capstone course curriculum, are required to host the 5th annual celebrity chef fundraiser, Love Is...A Full Plate, to benefit End Hunger CT! and CT Food Bank, with 5% of total proceeds going towards a scholarship fund for a UNH Hospitality student. Through the Love Is…A Full Plate fundraiser, the HTM department has assisted End Hunger CT! in raising $75K over the last four years.In addition, this fundraiser helps students effectively apply the knowledge and skills acquired thus far, aiding in our professional development and practice of community engagement.
To welcome spring this year, the HTM Capstone students will be hosting a celebrity comedian fundraiser paired with a four-course gourmet dinner, live and silent auctions. This event has been renamed, “Laughter Is…A Full Plate.” This year there will be a performance by Michael Kosta!
**ABOUT MICHAEL KOSTA**
Michael Kosta started out as an athlete; he is quick to point out that he was once-ranked number 864 in the world in professional tennis and earned over $11,000 on tour. Don't laugh, that's $11,000 more than you made as a pro athlete.
Kosta gained attention as a comedian when he broke out of the HBO Comedy and Arts Festival in Aspen. He quickly relocated to Los Angeles where he began his television career as a host and correspondant. Apart from television, he also is the star and creator of the web series Sports. Kosta. Basement. In 2015, Kosta released his first comedy album on Comedy Dynamics Records, Comedy For Attractive People.
