From Long Shot To Favorite To Win The Stanley Cup

Call it what you want, but don’t call it beginner’s luck.

And that would be the fact that the expansion NFL Las Vegas Golden Knights are now co-favorites to win the Stanley Cup.

This according to the Westgate Sportsbook and it is a pretty stunning turnaround considering that same sportsbook, that now lists the Sin City Knights at 4-1 to win it all, opened the season with them at 200-1 to hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup.

But after the Knights not only became the first team in this year’s Stanley Cup playoffs to clinch a ticket to the second round with a convincing four games sweep of the Los Angeles Kings but, in doing so, became the first franchise in NHL history to sweep a postseason series in its inaugural season.

And that is why that Westgate now has them at the same odds as the Nashville Predators.

And the only odds in the NHL better than those are the odds that George McPhee will win GM of the year because he seems to have done everything right.

Well, with the exception of the fact that he went into the season with the goal of making the playoffs in the team's third season and winning a Stanley Cup in six.

Yeah, he was way off there.

And the Vegas fans couldn’t be happier.
