Gimme Shelter Hosts Golf Tournament to Benefit Hamden's Animal Control!

Gimme Shelter raises funds & awareness for Hamden's Animal Control Gift Fund. That fund was established to design, build & staff a new Animal Shelter in south-central CT. As I'm sure you know, the existing one off Universal Drive in North Haven (used by Hamden & North Haven Animal Control Officers) is obsolete and in bad shape. October is National Adopt an Animal Shelter Month and our 2017 efforts will end on Saturday, October 28th.

The group will start the day at 8am with a Golf Tournament at Sleeping Giant Golf Course. The tournament will feature a $20,000 (50/50 split) Hole-in-One Contest on the 3rd hole. If a hole-in-one occurs, the player gets $10,000 and $10,000 (as well as the tournament proceeds) go to Hamden's Animal Control Gift Fund. The tournament is a 9-hole, shotgun format, open to amateurs only. For full details and registration, please visit www.AbandonedAnimals.org

The fundraising continues next door at Aunt Chilada's Restaurant during lunch & dinner. The restaurant will donate 20% of everyone's pre-taxed bill who first makes a reservation and then presents the Event Flier. Patrons may sit in the bar/lounge, main restaurant or outside deck. The offer also includes take-out.

The day will end right where the group started (on January 27th), with a live performance in the upstairs Cantina by Hamden's own Savile Row starting at 6PM. (No cover charge.) The 20% offer still applies, and reservations are required, but Aunt Chilada's has generously agreed to donate 20% of the entire pre-taxed upstairs Cantina register to the Animal Control Gift Fund - no flier is needed. Full details and Event Fliers may also be found at www.AbandonedAnimals.org

If you are not able to attend and still wish to donate, checks should be made out to the Animal Control Gift Fund and mailed to:
