Cheshire’s Lights of Hope Seeks Volunteers & Sponsors
Cheshire’s Lights of Hope is looking for street captains, business sponsors and volunteers to help make its annual luminary event a success.
Street captains are needed to send out order forms on their street, collect order forms, and then pick up and deliver luminaries and sand to their neighbors. Students can earn volunteer hours for serving as a street captain.
The organization is also seeking volunteers leading up to and on the night of the event to help with luminary assembly, operations, cleanup and other tasks, as well as business sponsors.
This year, any business sponsoring Cheshire’s Lights of Hope for $250 or more is eligible to apply for a tax credit of 60 percent of their donation through the Neighborhood Assistance Act Program.
The 2017 event will take place on Saturday, November 11. Orders through street captains must be turned in by Oct. 8. New and improved this year- Luminary Kits will arrive pre-assembled this year to make it easier for those participating.
