St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral’s 49th Greek Festival

St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral

St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral will host its 49th Hartford Greek Festival starting Thursday, June 1 and running through Sunday, June 4.

Homemade Greek food made from scratch entirely through the efforts of hundreds of church volunteers who start in April making and baking all of the authentic Greek specialties that are served under tents, on the back patio, or in the air- conditioned church hall.

Everything is homemade including, spanakopita (spinach and cheese pies), gyros, souvlaki (shish kabob), moussaka, pastitsio, and lamb shanks, and an array Greek pastries—10 varieties, beyond baklava, all prepared on the premises .

In addition to the fabulous food, awaiting the whole family is live music, youth dance performances, cathedral tours, face painting, raffles, vendors, a coffee house, and a taverna with a separate bar, band, and classic tavern app menu on the back patio of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford (860) 956-7586. Rain or shine. Admission is free.

Our festival provides the church with its operating budget as well as allowing us to stock our food pantry for the needy and to donate to a wide variety of philanthropic organizations locally, nationally, and internationally.
