TERRYVILLE, CT (WFSB) -
The video of a Connecticut woman's daughter and her rescue dog is going viral.
Terryville resident Lauren Malone posted the reaction of her 4-year-old daughter Katie singing and cuddling her four-month-old rescue dog Oakely. The intent of the video is simple.
“And THIS is why you should adopt a rescue dog. Or two. Or three or four. We adopted Oakley this week from our favorite rescue Americanlabrescue.com,” Malone posted on her Facebook page.
"I always want to go for the ones that need homes the most. Oakley was a small puppy and been in rescue for a while, his whole life," Malone said. "They said we need an urgent foster and I said I want to bring him into our family."
The video, which was posted a week ago, has since gone viral and has been viewed more than 6 million times.
"Not at all. I was just posting it for our rescue agency and it went everywhere," Malone said.
Since the post, Americanlabrescue.com has raised more than $1,800. To donate, click here.
