Earlier this week, a Georgia boy with special needs was safely reunited with his family after a good Samaritan spotted him walking alone in the middle of a busy road. Tim Fletcher pulled over, guided the child to a safe location and immediately called police for help.
While waiting for officers, Fletcher stayed with the boy, comforting him by showing him videos on his phone and carrying him when needed. A short time later, police reunited the child with his family after determining he had wandered away during a family gathering.
Fletcher says he believes he was in the right place at the right time to help. Police say the incident serves as an important reminder to take extra precautions with children who may be unable to communicate or recognize danger.
