Over the last few years, a lot of companies have required employees to return to the office, but plenty of workplaces have allowed them to keep working from home, at least part time. Research shows that 13% of full-time employees now work entirely from home and another 26% have a hybrid schedule with some work time at home and some in the office. Where you live can affect how easy it is to work remotely and a new report reveals the states with the most ideal conditions for working from home.
- WalletHub’s list of the Best States for Working From Home has just come out.
- They compared the 50 states and Washington, D.C. on 12 key factors, including things like Internet costs, cyber security, average price of electricity, average home square footage and the share of workers working from home.
- Topping the list as the best state to work from home is Delaware, where 13% of their workforce is currently doing so.
- Delaware has the third-lowest Internet cost in the U.S. and the fifth-highest average home square footage in the country.
- Alaska lands at the bottom of the list, making it the worst state to work from home in 2025.
