Eagles Kicked Off Hotel California Tour...Check Out The Setlist

Following a three-night test run last fall in Las Vegas, theEagleshave taken theirHotel Californiatour on the road, opening up Friday in Atlanta, along with Saturday.

Identical to the Vegas run, with the lights down, the sound of wind, rain and thunder filling the State Farm Arena, a neon sign of the album’s logo descended from the rafters while a man in a cape walked out holding a vinyl copy of the album. As he placed it on a turntable, the band kicked into the title track. For the fourth and final song of Side One, "Wasted Time," they were joined by a 46-piece orchestra.

A woman dressed as a cigarette girl then came out to flip the album over, and, with the orchestra, the reprise of “Wasted Time” started Side Two. The orchestra backed the band through “Pretty Maids All in a Row,” “Try and Love Again” and, with the addition of a 22-member choir, the album’s final song, “The Last Resort.”

After an intermission, they continued a two-hour greatest hits set that started with “Seven Bridges Road,” followed by “Take It Easy” sung by Glenn Frey's son Deacon. Augmented by a five-piece horn section on some of the 23 songs (including encores), the second set concluded with a reprise of "Hotel California." All told, they played 32 songs over three-and-a-half hours.

They have one more show in Atlanta tomorrow (Tuesday) night, then it's onto New York City and Dallas for three nights, Houston, Denver, St. Paul and San Francisco for two each, Los Angeles for three, and Phoenix for two, which is where it ends on April 26th.
