Julian Edelman may have missed the entire season with a torn ACL, but that didn’t stop him from making what might have been his most impressive catch of his career this week.
Because Edelman may very well have helped prevent another school shooting by catching this disturbing comment someone typed on one of Edelman’s Instagram posts:
The comment was brought to Edelman’s attention by another reader, who direct messaged him saying “Dude, there is a kid in your comment section says he’s going to shoot up a school, i think you should alert the authority.”
According to the report, Edelman asked his assistant to read through the comments on his post and sure enough, she found the above-mentioned threat and then immediately called 911.
Per the report, the authorities managed to gain special access to determine the sender’s IP address, which they traced to Port Huron, Michigan.
Police immediately went to the residence where the message was posted from, finding a 14-year-old boy—who admitted to writing the threat—along with two rifles that belonged to the boy’s mother.
The boy was taken into custody and charged with “making a false report of a threat of terrorism” which is a felony that holds up to a four-year punishment in jail.
Edelman said he’s sure to make sure the person responsible receives something for his valiant action.
Hoping the idiot kid who posted it gets something for his irresponsible ones.
