David Fisch was born to be on the radio. And YES, his name really is FISCH – that’s his real last name! In fact Fisch, for as long as he can remember, is all anyone has ever called him. He grew up in the blooming metropolis of Moodus, where there was no cable TV or stoplights. His mom never let him have a Nintendo and this forced him to play outside. So, he became a wiffle ball wizard, bought himself a Sony Walkman, and started listening to the radio! He would stay up all night recording his favorite tunes to make mix tapes for his friends. He fell in love with the DJ’s and it was then he knew he wanted to be a DJ one day too. He somehow ended up as an all-state swimmer and an honor student at Xavier High School in Middletown, where he then took his talents to Villanova University. It was there he finally got his chance to be on the radio, broadcasting football and basketball games and hosting a weekly music show on the student radio station WXVU. Fisch interned and eventually was hired by Q102 in Philly, and spent three years working for the Clear Channel family there. He made stops in Delaware, New York, Massachusetts, and eventually ended up back in Connecticut at KC 101 and Jammin 107.7 in New London. He set his sights on ESPN, and spent nearly a decade at the World Wide Leader in Sports working on award-winning programs like Mike & Mike, GameNight, The Dan Patrick Show; and eventually writing, producing and gaining national notoriety on The Herd with Colin Cowherd. Then he had the opportunity of a lifetime, the chance to host his own morning show on a station he grew up listening to – Radio 104.1 WMRQ, where he spent nearly another successful decade entertaining millions in his home state bringing Alternative music back to Connecticut. Fisch still lives in Bristol where he and his wife Jen have two energetic boys Brady (8) and Gavin (7). They just welcomed a beautiful little girl named Kelsey Ann to their family, and now Fisch is ready to begin his newest adventure as the new morning show host on The River! Listen to “Fisch on The River” weekday mornings from 5am-10am.
