We are a state that has constant unpredictable weather, and with that in mind, it can sometimes be very tricky and dangerous driving out in snowy/icy weather.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is reminding people to stay clear of snowplows and to slow down and stay informed while driving through winter weather.

"Whether it’s snow, sleet or ice, winter weather can cause extremely dangerous road conditions. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in 2021 there were 395 fatal crashes and an estimated 22,325 injury crashes that occurred when there were snow/sleet conditions at the time of the crash. Preparing yourself – and your vehicle – for winter weather is key." (Source: CDOT)
