Meet Bella!
Who out there loves coming home to be greeted by the happiest of canine dances? Well, look no further than Bella! She has the HAPPIEST wiggle butt ever and does so talking to you the whole time while holding her favorite toy in her mouth. She is a young, just barely turned 1-year-old, Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd mix. Bella is so sweet and just adores meeting new human friends. She's an energetic girl that eagerly plays fetch with tennis balls and runs full-speed zoomies around our play yard.
Bella would be a great fit for a home with an active family to take her on adventures and long walks (she would make an amazing hiking and/or running partner too - this girl is up for anything!). At the end of the day though, she is quite content to snuggle up with her people or quietly lay at your feet, nibbling on her Nylabone.
Bella LOVES to play with other dogs and would be delighted to share her home with an energetic, playful pooch or two (or at least be able to have doggy playdates or time at doggy daycare!). No kitties for Bella - they are way too fun to chase. She previously lived with children and would be happy to entertain respectful human siblings 6 years of age and older. Bella does have a very manageable GI issue - with daily medication and a special diet, she will continue to live a long, healthy life just like any other dog! Bella will make an extremely devoted, loving companion to her furever home.

Meet Chewie!
This independent and peppy guy will happily accompany you to the store, serve as your dedicated co-pilot in the car, and lead the way on long strolls out and about. A 10-pound mix of terrier and Muppet/Fraggle, he loves to sniff and explore outdoors, prances with the air of a proud show dog on the leash, and has proven himself a calm and cordial gentleman whenever meeting fellow pups.
His very favorite treats are True Chews (probably because he’s under the impression they’re named after him). We imagine he would even wear a cone of shame with perfect dignity.
For adult humans who can appreciate his preference for keeping a polite sense of decorum, he will quickly put a smile on your face.

Meet Gatsby!
Now presenting, Gatsby! He is a 4 year old Shih Tzu/Yorkshire Terrier mix and weighs a solid, stout 18lbs (our groomer thinks that he has Maltese in him as well as his hair is so soft). Gatsby is a dapper, friendly fellow - strangers are just friends that he hasn't met yet! This guy has tons of personality, lots of go, go, go and is very bouncy - he can be very puppy-like in many regards! If you are looking for a fun loving, affectionate buddy, you've found him! Gatsby can be very busy and active, but doesn't have over-the-top energy. A one mile walk a day and playing fetch in the yard is plenty for this pupper. After exercise and playtime is over, Gatsby is ready to curl up and take a snooze next to you. Gatsby was recently diagnosed with glaucoma to both eyes and this will require additional care by his adopters. Gatsby will need an adult only home and one where he can be the only spoiled canine resident. He has shown friendly, playful interest in other dogs that he has met and on walks, but wants to be the only king of his castle. For more information about Gatsby and our adoption process, please contact Michelle at michelle.p@poainc.org, and please fill out an adoption application.
