Meet the CT Humane Society's Adoptable Pet of the Week: Barney

Meet Barney a handsome six-month-old Siberian Husky who has quite an enthusiastic personality! He arrived at CHS in September from local animal control and has been with CHS for a few weeks now, working on his training and getting up to date on all his vaccinations. He's a great dog who will make an excellent companion for the right family.

Barney is a large, high-energy breed who has a lot of typical husky behaviors. He'll do great in a home with children over 14 who are comfortable around bigger dogs, and with a family who understands husky quirks. While he hasn't had much experience sharing his home with a furry companion, he may be willing to welcome another large, high-energy dog or a canine-savvy, high-energy cat. Barney still has a lot to learn about being a dog; he will need to continue his obedience training with his new family. He's very intelligent and will be a joy for someone who enjoys positive reinforcement training.

Barney will be an excellent addition to an active home where he can get plenty of exercise every day! If you're ready to experience the high-energy adventure of a lifetime with Barney, he is available in Newington.
