Firefighters in Marmora, New Jersey, responded to a raging fire in the afternoon, as a hair salon was being destroyed by flames.
While the building was lost, the firefighters were able to put out the fire without anyone getting injured.
But this might not have been the case if it weren’t for a stranger who grabbed a ladder and climbed to the second floor to rescue two people who were trapped.
Somehow, the man was able to help out and then move along without ever being identified.
The firefighters posted a news update on social media – and a note of thanks to everyone who was involved, mentioning that they did not know who this mystery hero was.
But there was no denying that his efforts prevented this tragedy from being much, much worse.
