Pizza Shop Has Served Over 142K Slices To Homeless

A few years ago Jenny and Mike Stevens opened a Little Caesars Pizza franchise in Fargo, North Dakota and noticed people were sometimes going through the restaurant’s dumpster looking for food. That led Mike to put up a sign offering free, hot food to anyone in need.”

“To the person going through our trash for your next meal, you’re a human being and worth more than a meal from a dumpster,” the sign reads. “Please come in during operating hours for a couple of slices of hot pizza and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked.”

Jenny says they give anyone who asks for a donation a whole pizza, despite what the sign says. And their generosity doesn’t stop there. The couple started providing free pies to three homeless shelters every week and in just two years, they’ve given away over 142,000 slices of pizza to hungry, homeless folks.

“You have to come together to help each other out,” Jenny says. “We just do it because it seems like the right thing to do."
