Today marks the 25th anniversary of the tragic death of Princess Diana. People all over the world were devastated this time in 1997 when Diana was tragically killed in a car accident during a trip to Paris with her lover Dodi Fayed.
While heading to Fayed's apartment in the city to get away from paparazzi, the car they were in sped away from the Ritz hotel when the driver, Henri Paul, last control of the vehicle and smashed into a support pillar of a tunnel. Fayed and the driver were pronounced dead at the scene and Diana passed away early on the morning of August 31st.
The impact of the death in Britain was explosive and members of the public descended on Kensington Palace in droves to grieve and leave floral tributes. "The people's princess," a moniker given to Diana by former Prime Minister Tony Blair, died at the age of 36. The Telegraph reports the two princes will mourn the passing of their late mother separately. The relationship between the brothers has reportedly been strained after Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, gave an interview to Oprah Winfrey and criticized the Royal Family.
