It's been one year since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic, plunging the world into a year like no other. The pandemic has changed life in the U.S., altering how we work and connect with friends and family. More than 530-thousand people have died in this country alone, more than any other. Some 29 million Americans have been infected with the respiratory illness. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, however, as the nation ramps up the distribution of vaccines. But health experts warn now isn't the time to let down our guard as troubling variants of the illness pop up.
